Georgia’s annual inflation rate rose to 5.9% in October 2026, up from 5.6% in September. The uptick was mainly driven by stronger price increases in transport (21.9% vs. 18.7%), housing and utilities (10.1% vs. 9.2%), and health (8.4% vs. 8.0%). Price growth also remained elevated in restaurants and hotels, where inflation held steady at 7.3%.

By contrast, inflation slowed in several categories: food and non-alcoholic beverages (3.1% vs. 3.4%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (5.5% vs. 6.2%), furnishings and household equipment (0.4% vs. 0.6%), and recreation and culture (2.5% vs. 2.9%). Clothing and footwear prices rebounded, rising 0.4% after a 1.8% decline in September.

Communication prices continued to fall, though at a slightly slower rate (-2.5% vs. -2.8%), while education costs decreased further (-12.0% vs. -12.5%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices climbed 0.9% in October, accelerating from a 0.4% increase in September.
